Our branding project for the Augsburg Canoe Slalom World Championships was an opportunity to pay homage to the past while embracing the excitement of the present. We aimed to create a visual identity that breathed the spirit of 1972, drawing inspiration from the iconic Olympic Games, while reflecting the raw emotions that this remarkable location and its athletes brought with them.
The branding embodied the rich heritage of canoe slalom and its connection to Augsburg's history, emphasizing the enduring legacy of the sport. We carefully crafted a visual language that combined classic elements from '72 with contemporary design elements, infusing a sense of nostalgia and energy into every aspect of the branding.
Sommer, Sonne, Slalom!
A triumph of unity: nations reunited, memories forever.
